Is Veganism of God?
I believe that a healthy diet is essential for your body to run optimally, and I can understand the draw to want to go “vegan” when you find out about animal cruelty and how corrupt the meat processing industry is. But although this fact remains to be true, does that mean that we should all “go vegan” as a result of this? I don’t think so…
I don’t know if you ever played the game of dominoes before, but there is a popular saying that is used by seasoned players of the game, “all money ain’t good money.” The saying is used in the game for people who aren’t strategic about how they choose to score or “get their money”.
There are ways that you can score in the game that are wise, and sometimes you just have to pass up the chance to “get some money”, so that you don’t set yourself up for failure later on in the game. This concept can be used for many aspects of life, and I bring it up here to illustrate how veganism can sound like a great idea on the surface, but I want to dive deeper into this topic to see if it’s actually “good money”, or not.
What I see veganism to be.
I can clearly see the draw of wanting to “eat clean” because in this highly industrialized world I think that it’s safe to say that most of us want to take care of ourselves to some degree. And I believe that is exactly how people get sucked into fad diets like Adkins, Keto and the South Beach diet because who doesn’t want to be healthier right?
Along those lines, you would think that veganism was simply just a lifestyle choice or simply just a health preference. But if that’s all that it was, then why is it when people choose to “go vegan” they get so fanatical and radical about it? I will admit that this is not the case for everybody, but it is true for the vast majority of vegans though.
Is the desire to live a healthy lifestyle what makes vegans so passionate about veganism, or is it something deeper? First off, is a raw vegan diet really even healthy to begin with? There is so much “science” that surrounds vegan products with all the “meat substitutes” and highly processed animal product “alternatives”. These concoctions are extremely unhealthy in my opinion because they substitute God given ingredients that come from animal products with synthetic “plant based”, aka sodium filled substitutes.
If you look at the sodium count of vegan alternative meals you will see what I’m talking about. Our bodies were not designed to live off of vegetables and synthetic protein alternatives. And although this is a fact, vegans love to talk about how happy and healthy their lifestyle is as apposed to non-vegans. If they were truly honest though, they would admit that they all love meat as much as, or even more than meat eaters do because they’re always eating stuff that “looks and tastes like meat”, but isn’t. lol
Hey, as far as I’m concerned, on the diet side of veganism, if it works for you then have at it. But there is more to it than that, and I may sound like I’m taking this thing too far if you don’t know where I’m coming from. But I personally believe that veganism as a whole is more of a religion, than it is a diet.
A religion that encompasses the worship of “mother earth” or “Gaia”. A figure that is connected to witchcraft, new aged mysticism and the occult. This may sound a bit far fetched at first, but if you look at this whole thing through the lens of Scripture, there is clear evidence to prove what I’m saying here.
The true nature of veganism.
If you pay close attention to the media at large, the entire world system as a whole is pushing this as the healthiest “diet” on earth. For a believer in the Most High God, this alone should be your first red flag indicating that something isn’t quite right with this picture.
Next we have “vegan warriors” in the schools, media, movies and music nowadays preaching the gospel of “saving the planet”, animal cruelty issues and the necessities of “going green”, or reducing our “carbon footprint” on the earth. But you have to consider what Jesus said in the Gospel of John chapter 15, verses 18 through 19 about things that are “popular” with the world. John 15:18-19 So with that being said, if the world is promoting it, then it can’t possibly be of God, point blank!
So if God isn’t behind this whole “save the earth” thing, then who is? The desire to “save the planet” sounds noble enough right? I mean, don’t we all want world peace and a “greener planet” for future generations? I mean, this all sounds great on the surface and all, but the idea of uniting the world under one banner is the agenda of the antichrist, not the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob.
On the contrary if you read in the Gospel of Matthew in chapter 10 in verses 34 through 36, you will see that Jesus said that His message is not intended to bring about world peace at all. Matthew 10:34-36. But rather His message will in fact be offensive to the world, so much so that it will cause division, even among family members. 1 Peter 2:8
And as far as saving the earth goes, however noble it may sound, let’s examine what the Scriptures have to say about that subject. In the book of Genesis chapter 3 and verse 17 God pronounced a curse on the ground (earth) because of Adams sin. Genesis 3:17 Paul also stated in chapter 8 of the book of Romans in verses 20 through 23 that the earth is in a fallen state and cannot and will not be redeemed until the Lord redeems it. Romans 8:18-22
These are two witnesses that testify against the “save the earth” movement because according to the Scriptures the earth cannot be saved by man. So to get all wrapped up in trying to do so is a denial of the Word of God. And rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft according to 1 Samuel chapter 15 and verse 23. 1 Samuel 15:23
God will redeem this earth when He returns to set up His kingdom, but until then it will continue to be destroyed. According to the book of Isaiah in chapter 14 and verse 17, the earth is literally being destroyed by lucifer. Isaiah 14:17 So if they want to blame somebody for killing “mother earth”, then they should blame him. But oddly enough they don’t because he’s seen as the real victim in all this for some strange reason.
Eating meat is not an evil practice.
1 Timothy 4:1-5 (KJV)
“1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.”
Vegans folks tend to go on and on about how evil and cruel it is to eat the flesh of animals because it’s like eating a family member or something. They use arguments like how they don’t think that people should kill animals for food, or how “unhealthy” animal fats are, or how meat clogs up your colon and so on. And while I don’t recommend eating any other meat than grass fed organic meat. Meat is a necessity for our bodies to function properly. This is how God made us to function, and He taught this in His Word.
Make no mistake, no amount of artificial protein can replace the proteins that you get from meat, and even if you disagree with me on this point. As far as killing animals go, I have to mention that God Himself personally killed an animal to clothe Adam and Eve in Genesis chapter 3 and verse 21. Genesis 3:21 And He also ate beef and had milk and butter in Genesis chapter 18 and verse 8. Genesis 18:8
God instituted the Passover meal which consisted of eating a lamb in the book of Exodus in chapter 12, verses 42 through 50. Exodus 12:42-50 Not only that, but He instituted a complete sacrificial system that claimed the lives of countless animals as stated in Exodus 24:5, Exodus 29:18, Leviticus 1:5 to name a few.
And just in case people want to pull the whole, “the God of the Old Testament is different from Jesus” argument. Jesus ate the flesh of animals when He was here among us too. He killed and ate fish, and also approved of, and ate the lamb that was prepared every Passover, over the course of His life as instructed in the law of Moses too. Mark 14:12-13, Luke 22:7-8
This fact is undeniable, because if He didn’t, He would have been considered a false prophet, nullified and cut off from Israel according to the book of Numbers in chapter 9 and verse 13. Numbers 9:13
Conclusion.
So in conclusion, if you adhere to the vegan doctrine of saving the earth and loving animals more than yourself, etc. Whether you know it or not, you are standing in judgement of the Most High God by implying that your way is somehow “purer” than His. All because you would never harm or eat the flesh of an animal, or because you wouldn’t intentionally desecrate “mother earth”.
However noble these stances may seem, they are self righteous principles at best, and of no spiritual significance as far as the Kingdom of God is concerned. Proverbs 14:12
I’m in no way advocating animal cruelty, destroying the earth, or anything of the sort. But there is no way around the facts that I have presented regarding this subject, that’s if you take God’s Word seriously anyway. If you don’t, then continue on your merry way I guess. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord!
One person has faith that he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats vegetables only.
Peace,
Bill
